Source: CLARK COUNTY REPUBLICAN PRESS (Neillsville, Wis.) 07/09/1891 Poate, Edward (21 SEP 1813 - 1 JUL 1891) Died, Edward Poate, of Bright's disease, in Maple Works, Clark County, July 1, 1891, aged 77 years 9 months and 9 days. He was born in England and came to this country 33 years ago, settling in Portage, Wis., which remained his home until six years ago, when he came to be with his children in Neillsville. During the last winter he went out to live with his son William in Maple Works. For the last year he was very helpless and death served a happy release to a worn out body. He was, for sixteen years, a member of the Methodist Church. The funeral services were conducted by his pastor last Friday and the body was interred in the Neillsville Cemetery. |
