Wilding, George (1844 - 21 JAN 1892)

George Wilding, who formerly resided in the town of Grant, Clark County, about four miles from this city, was taken violently ill, about three o'clock Wednesday morning, Jan. 21st, with congestion of the bowels, and it was though best to remove him to the hospital in this city, so that he might have an operation performed to relieve his sufferings, and to received the proper treatment.

But on account of his weakened condition, upon arriving at the hospital, it was deemed unsafe to undertake the operation, and at ten o'clock of the same evening, he died.

It is supposed that he had strained himself in lifting beef, which he was furnishing logging camps with, and had probably taken cold, which settled in his bowels, and added in causing his death.

He was about forty-seven years old, had been married three times, and his third wife, together with three children by his first wife, two by his second, and one by his wife who survives him, mourn his loss.

The funeral services were held Saturday morning, at ten o'clock, Jan. 23rd, at the Pleasant Ridge Church, and conducted by Rev. J. G. Russel, of this city. A large concourse of people assembled to attend the last sad rites.
