Tomkowiak, Peter P. (29 JUN 1907 - 20 APR 2002)

 

THORP - Peter P. Tomkowiak, 94, of Thorp, died Saturday, April 20, 2002, at Victory Medical Center Nursing Home, Stanley.

Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at St. Bernard- St. Hedwig's Catholic Church, Thorp. Burial will be in St. Hedwig's cemetery.

Visitation will be 5-8 p.m. Monday at the Thorp Funeral Home with a 7:30 p.m. parish and Knight's of Columbus Rosary.

Cuddie Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Peter was born June 29, 1907, in rural Thorp, to Martin and Magdalena (Franczkowiak) Tomkowiak and attended area schools. He was married Oct. 25, 1933 to Frances Baran at St. Hedwig's Catholic Church, Thorp. She died in 1995. He farmed in the town of Withee, Clark County, until retiring to the City of Thorp in 1971. He was a member of the Knight's of Columbus Queen of Peace Council 4634 and the Men's Holy Society.

He is survived by two sons, Edward Tomkowiak, of Wads-worth, Ill., and Thomas (Trudy) Tomkowiak, of Have-lock, N.C. two daughters, Lorraine (Mar-vin) Michalski, of Marshfield, and Rose (Robert) Wyngaard, of Little Chute 16 grandchildren and 27 great-grandchildren.
