Krumrey, Clementine (MAR 1873 - 9 MAY 1894)

Last Wednesday, May 9th, 1894, the friends of Mrs. C. Krumrey were surprised and shocked to hear of her sudden death as only a very few knew that she was ailing at all. She died of dropsy together with anemic poisoning, which followed an operation performed by Dr. Cole of Black River Falls. Early in the morning she was taken with convulsions, and at nine o'clock lost all consciousness, which she nover regained. All help availed nothing, however, and at about six o'clock in the evening she died, leaving many relatives and friends to mourn her loss.

Clementine Calway was born here twenty-one years and two months ago, grew up here and graduated from High School in this city (Neillsville, Clark County), in the class of '91, and became the wife of Mr. Krumrey in 1892. She was of a kind and loving disposition, as a girl and woman and a universal favorite among her many friends.

The funeral was held in the Congregational Church Sunday afternoon, Rev. Evatt preaching the sermon. The attendance was one of the largest ever held in this city, and the floral offerings, many of which were sent from other cities were very beautiful. One of the pretty effects of the burial was sixteen girls, who were Mrs. Krumrey's associates, who dressed in white, and formed a line on either side of the passageway for the casket, to and from the church. They also lined the grave with cotton adorned with flowers.
