Lulu Blanche Galbreath was born April 4, 1888, in Grant county, Ind. She moved with her parents to Wisconsin when she was a small girl and had lived since in different parts of the state.

She was married to Isaac Higgins Dec. 24, 1908. They lived on a farm near Sabin, Wis., for some time afterward, owning and operating different farms and businesses until they settled, about 23 years ago, on the farm in the town of York (Clark Co), which still is the family home.

She is survived by her husband and her two children, Floyd of Baltimore, Md., and Geraldine, now Mrs. Burke Stannard, Toronto, Canada two grandsons, Larry and Scott Higgins, sons of Mr. and Mrs. Floyd Higgins and also a sister, Mrs. Christ Feutz, town of Washburn and a brother, Roscoe Galbreath of Canada.

Mrs. Higgins passed away at her home, surrounded by her loved ones, Dec. 22, 1942, after a severe illness of about a month.

The departed was educated in the schools of Clark county. She taught in the rural districts for four years before her marriage. She also taught for many years after she became a wife and mother, being most successful in this profession. She was one of Clark County's oldest teachers. Mrs. Higgins also was active in civic and social clubs in her home community. She had been a member of the Christian church since she was sixteen years of age, always a worker in any church which was close at hand whether or not it happened to be her own denomination.

One of the great pleasures in her life was the fact that she was permitted to live close to her beloved sister, Mrs. Christ Feutz. She and a brother now are the only survivors of the Robert Galbreath family.

Present for the rites from distant places were: Lant Higgins, eldest brother of Isaac Higgins, Janesville Mr. and Mrs. Rollie Robins, Sabin, Wis. and Mr. and Mrs. Floyd Wanless, Hillsboro, the women being Mr. Higgins' sisters.

The daughter had been at home assisting in the care of her mother. Floyd also had been here to visit his mother and to do what he could for her.

Funeral services were held at the community church at Granton at two p.m. Saturday, the Rev. O. Asp of Neillsville officiating. Burial was made in the Windfall cemetery.
