Marsh, Julia (1860 - 11 MAR 1897)

Mrs. Julia Marsh, wife of Sylvester L. Marsh, died at her home at Granton in this county (Clark) of consumption at the age of thirty-six years, on Thursday, March 11th, 1897. Deceased was born in Susquehanna County, Pa., came to Wisconsin at the age of eighteen years, and was married to Sylvester L. Marsh in 1882. Besides her husband she leaves two children, a boy of fourteen and a girl of eight, a sister, Mrs. Stanley Bump, of the town of Sherman, and an aged father in Pennsylvania. During the past year she has been almost a constant sufferer from the disease which finally proved fatal. During the past summer she visited her father and friends at her former home in Pennsylvania for a few months, with the hope that the change might improve her health, but the disease constantly gained ground. In December she was taken to Chicago for treatment, but no permanent improvement resulted from it, and a severe cold contracted a few weeks ago hastened the inevitable end. She was an exemplary lady, highly respected among her acquaintances, quiet and modest in her ways and faithfully devoted to her home and family. She will be sadly missed in her home and in the community in which she has resided.
