Pickering, Bessie (6 Mar 1876 - 19 Jun 1899)

Many friends in Neillsville, Clark County will learn with sorrow of the death of Mrs. Myron Pickering, nee Borgers, which occurred at the home of her husband's parents in Nevins, Monday night, June 19, 1899.

Mrs. Pickering was formerly Bessie Borgers, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Borgers of this city, and she was married April 20, 1898, removing with her husband to their home in Granton.

Her illness, which was of short duration, was contracted suddenly last Friday, while visiting at the home of her husband's parents, and though attended by the best medical skill, death ensued last Monday.

Mrs. Pickering was much loved and respected by all who knew her, possessing a charming disposition and a beautiful Christian character. She was born at Granton, March 6, 1876, and was therefore but 23 years of age. She was educated in the Neillsville schools, and later was a student for one year of the Poynette Academy, fitting herself for her chosen vocation, teaching. She was, for four years, a successful instructor in neighboring schools, and was then married to Mr. Pickering.

Funeral services took place at ten o'clock yesterday morning and the remains were interred in the cemetery at Nevins.

Her brother, Albert Borgers, of Madison, and her sister, Mamie, of Poynette, were present at the services.
