Republican and Press – Neillsville, Clark County, Wisconsin

Ben Hart and Ed Malloy, who were arrested last week for burglarizing the store of J.B.Lowe, waved examination and were bound over for trial in bonds of $300 each.

Wm. H. Shaap, who was arrested at Milwaukee last week, on a charge of being implicated in the robbery of Frank Farnstahl’s shoe store at Colby last spring, had his examination here last Monday and was held to the circuit court in bonds of $300.

Mrs. Reitz and her mother started Thursday morning on their contemplated trip to Walla Walla, Wash.

Mrs. Scott Colburn returned to Minneapolis last Monday. She has shipped her household goods to that city.

Gilbert Johnson, who has been in Norway for about two years, returned to this city last Thursday, and was heartily greeted by many old friends.

Geo. H. Ray, of La Crosse, vice president of the Neillsville Bank, came up Thursday morning and returned on the noon train. A quick trip.

Edgar Dickey returned Thursday morning from the west. Edgar has been at work in San Francisco and cities in Oregon and Washington.

Mr. Earl Hatch, who recently came from his home at Arlington, Oregon, will return to the west Monday accompanied by his sister, Mrs. Draper.

Frank Mathy, who is well known around the La Flesh mill in Sherwood Forest, but who has been working in a Wisconsin mill for the past summer, came up this week on a visit.

Misses Allie Brown, Emma Hendren and Marion Tripp, with Mr. Albert Borgus, started for La Crosse on Friday morning to attend the Wisconsin convention of the Y.P.S.C.E.

Phil Hinkel and son, and Frank Firnstahl, were down from Colby Monday in attendance upon the examination of Shaap, charged with burglarizing the shoe store of Mr. Firnstahl.

Miss Jessie Cameron, of Eau Claire, who was numbered among the Republican and Press office force for several weeks the past summer came down Wednesday to spend a week with friends.

Judge and L.M. Sturdevant were last heard from at Centralia, Washington. They had visited Denver, Salt Lake, San Francisco, and other noted points. It is said they were favorably impressed with the "beauties" of Salt Lake.

Chas. Trogner, who leased the Times job department, and run it for a few weeks, threw up the job, and has gone to Eau Clair to work in the Eau Clair Book and Stationary Co.’s printing department.

Frank Darling started Monday on a trip to Montana. He will tell the readers of the Republican and Press what he thinks of the country along the line of the great Manitoba railroad.

Hon. R.J. MacBride was in Madison the first of the week and argued before the supreme court the case of Spaulding vs Town of Sherman. A decision in the case will probably be handed down in about three weeks.

Charlie Gallaher writes us from Milwaukee that he began to feel homesick because the Republican and Press did not reach him. An error in the street number was the cause.

On the 21^st the following list of persons was drawn on jury to serve at the December term of circuit court:
