Frank Joseph Klinke's General Merchandise

Greenwood, Clark Co., Wisconsin

 

Frank J. Klinke of Greenwood, Wisconsin placed the advertisement above in the February 2, 1900 Gleaner

 

 

When he was ten years old, Frank Joseph Klinke immigrated from Bohemia in 1867 to Greenwood.  He was born April 2, 1857, the son of John and Rosa (Krejci) Klinke. August 1, 1878, he married Katherina "Katie"  (pg. 121, vol-1).  The advertisement above shows that he was running the General Merchandise Store in 1900.

 

Katherina, later ran a Farm Implement Store with her son, Edward D. Klinke. Frank's other child, Helen, was a public school teacher.

 

Frank died August 10, 1912 and is buried in the St. Mary's Cemetery, Greenwood, Wisconsin.  "Katie" died September 10, 1921 and was laid to rest at his side.
