A CENTURY OF OF BLESSING -- 1872-1972

You and I are a part of history. This book reminds us of our involvement in the life of an institution called "Our Savior's Lutheran." It too has a history. It is more than a building. It represents people, lots of people. A century is a long time, and yet it is a very short time, when we compare it with eternity. Isn't that what Our Savior's Lutheran is all about? The people of Our Savior's involved with their Savior, as it is demonstrated in, the lives of its people, helping people to live here and now, but also showing forth a greater life yet to come.

It is to people, "The People of God" that this book is dedicated. The people of God who in faith have gone before, the people of God who through faith are with us today, and the people of God yet unborn, who in the future will by faith assume the responsibilities and privileges of "sonship" with God in and through Our Savior's Lutheran Church, here in Greenwood, Wisconsin.

We of the present are grateful for the vision and sacrifices of people of faith in days past. Through them the door was opened, and a challenge met. God again proved himself faithful in the many years of anxiety and distresses. Yet his blessings were made real. Our vision today is projected into the nameless future, with the hope and confidence that the Lord of the Church will add his blessings to our labors, so that those who are yet to follow may look back and indeed call us blessed.
