September 24, 1931 -- The Clark Store is undergoing numerous repairs this week, and is also received a fresh coat of paint. The place will take on a very neat appearance when completed. Source: Owen Enterprise.

Researchers Notes
Do you have any vintage Amber material (photos, documents, advertising, letters and/or cards etc.), and is there ANY visible trace of Amber/Clark today? Was this present-day intersection considered the center of Amber/Clark (Section 21, Hixon Twp., SE corner of French Town Avenue & Center Road), or was it further west (into Section 20, where Center Road turns into Clark Avenue and the Nielson Cheese Factory was located)? Are there any identifying landmarks on the Amber photo I sent which would indicate exactly where the photo was taken, WHEN it was taken (I guessed ca. 1915)Are any of the structures in the photo are still standing? If you have any additional information, I would appreciate it if you'd share it with me. I'll keep searching for evidence of an Amber Post Office. Chris Barney.
