These depression era prices featured 4 pounds of bananas for twenty-nine cents, 10 pounds of grapefruit for fifty-five cents, 2 pounds of lard for twenty-five cents, yellow onions for three cents a pound, fresh dates for eleven cents a pound, a can of pink salmon for fifteen cents and a ten pound sack of pure cane sugar for fifty-five cents. |
