GEORGE GREASER

George Greaser, following his marriage to Edna Violet McKean in 1903, was a fireman on the Pennsylvania railroad, making their home Pittsburg, until the fall of 1905, when he was transferred to Pitcairn, Pennsylvania. In 1911, he was again transferred to Swissvale, where they resided a year. In 1907, he was promoted to engineer and four years later he quit railroading and operated a farm, which was part of the Greaser estate in Iowa.

In 1920, they came to Abbotsford, and bought the farm which at present is owned by Alvin Kreklau. Some years later he moved to the Paustenbach farm, (Oscar Meyer).

In 1942, they moved to the village and Mr. Greaser worked for Marathon-Clark Cooperative and then for the Streckert Manufacturing plant as fireman.
