Neillsville High School in 1945
"The enrollment of Neillsville High School was larger than the capacity of the building. Our seats were pushed together so that there were two rows pushed together then there was an aisle and then two more rows etc. So each year you had a seat partner who's desk and seat touched. One had to be sure and go down the right Aisle to get into your seat. I'm sure now that would be a no no with fire codes. There was only one exit on each end and the main room (study Hall) was on the upper floor. The stairway went part way down and turned. I'm sure by today's standards that would have been condemned."
