ROMEO SCHOOL TEACHERS, STUDENTS GATHER

 

A reunion of the Rural Romeo School was held Aug. 31 at the Marshfield Senior Community Center.  Dinner was served at 1 p.m. followed by a program that included the histroy of the school which opened in 1882 and closed in 1954.  Three teachers - Ivy Sorenson, Bernice Gauger and Esther Carlson - as well as the students gave a brief history of their lives since leaving the school.

 

Those who attended were: Ron and Yvonne Weis, Davis, ILll.; Nels and Elaine Scheel, Columbia, Ohio; Betty Wright, Harold and Jenny Scheel, Orangeville, Ohio; Oscar and Delores Mellenthin, Beaver Dam; Melvin and Adeline Davis, Rhinelander; David Carlson, Abbotsford; Harry and Katherine Thompson, Friendship; Wayne and Marty Ringquist, Madison.

Jack and Kanet Kaiser, Auburndale; Marie Hartl, Medford; Harlan and Garnell Powers, Oshkosh; Verna and Linda Kester and Betty-Ann Potter, Wisconsin Rapids; Myron and Merden Federwitz, Milladore; Paul and Diana Haustowich, Waukesha; Ralph and Arlene Will, Florence edblom and Merlin and Dorothy Schjoneman, Colby; Marge Runge, Charles and Audree Reise and Don and Joan Melander, all of Unity.
