The Main address was given by American Legion State Vice Commander, Don Schindler, who told the mythical story of "Taps".

History Buff, Carol Mitte, spoke of her own Civil War ancestor, Sylvanus Warner.

Re-Enactors Fired the Cannon which actually shook the ground all 3 times it was shot.  

Anyone in Thorp who wasn't at the event most certainly knew we were! Afterwards, children scrambled to retrieve shells from the firing of the muskets.
