DIARY OF A FARMER'S WIFE

November, 1944

Wed. 1, No school for rest of week for Duane. Men worked in

woods. I painted storm windows & cleaned dinning room. 71 above today.

Thurs.2, Cleaned front room. Took Darlene to get her lesson.

Sat. 4 We were to Bill Horn's auction. Much colder.

Sun. 5, I was to church. Tillie's & us were to Ott's for supper

Mon. 6, Washed clothes. Rained

Tues.7, To election. Helped Emma.-,-

Wed. 8, Emma had Ladies Aid. There were 74 for supper.

Thurs.9, Mended & pressed a few things. Baked bread & a pie.

Fri. 10, Sewed alittle. Cleaned upstairs.

Sat. 11, To town in A.M. Mopped kitchen floor and waxed it. Washed all wood work & cupboards in kitchen. Baked

apple cake. To card party at Ted's in evening.

Sun. 12, We were to church. To show in P.M.(Going My Way)

Mon. 13, Washed & ironed. Baked bread.

Tues.14, Mended. Lenghtened 3 pair of pants, Darlene's dress & a

petticoat. Baked pies & a cake. Donald heipc,,d skid poles.

Wed. 15, Finished center piece. Starched & stretched it.

Thurs.16, Emma & I to Mrs. Asselin's funeral

Fri. 17, Made Darlene a petticoat

Sat. 18, Baked bread & cookies. Cleaned.

Sun. 19, Memorial service for L. Blecke. We were to Tillie's

in evening.

Mon. 20, Washed. Made Hub. pajama pants.

Tues. 21, Donald helped skid logs all day. To show in evening.(Show Business).

Wed. 22, Hubert out for 6th War Bond Drive. Took Darlene to Town.

Thurs. 23, Thanksgiving. Hub. out for Bond Drive in A.M. I mended & sewed. Gerald shot 3 squirrels.

Fri. 24, No school. Baked cookies. To Owen with Emma & Ted. Men worked in woods all day.

Sat. 25, Hub. & Duane worked in woods. I collected 50 eggs. Hunting season opened. Ted got his deer.

Sun. 26, We were to church. To show in Loyal in P.M. (White Cliffs of Dover).Seibold's here in evening.

Mon. 27, Washed. Weather cold.

Tues. 26, Baked cake & bread. To Tillie's & Mayvin's. Ironed.

Wed. 29, Baked apple cake. Tillie & Mrs Ott here dinner & supper.

Thurs. 30, Crocheted & mended. Gerald home with stomach flu.
