I; Part Time)
The
Wisconsin Valley Library Service (WVLS) Technical Support Specialist is
responsible for providing professional and courteous computer hardware,
computer software, and basic network support and services to WVLS staff as
well as thirty-six remote locations (public libraries and/or branches) in
seven counties. This position provides technical support for libraries
onsite and via telephone, email, and remote access. The Technical Support
Specialist is supervised by the IT Director and is responsible for reporting
regularly to the IT Director.
General Duties/Examples of Work:
Provides
professional and courteous technical support to WVLS staff onsite and to
WVLS member library staff remotely.
Provides workbench
or onsite computer repair services for WVLS and member library
computers.
Assists with
production environment network and server infrastructure issues.
Tracks
and documents individual support issues using WVLS OneOrZero AIMS
helpdesk platform.
Creates
new technical documentation as required.
Assists with
original documentation and maintenance of existing documentation
regarding computer support guidelines and procedures.
Works
with WVLS Technology Team to assess and evaluate current practices and
tools and provides recommendations for new tools and updating best
practices.
Performs other
activities as requested by the Director and/or IT Director.
Regularly
engages in professional development activities.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Working
knowledge of MS Windows desktops (XP through Win7) and MS Office suites
(2003-2010).
Working
knowledge of basic local area wired and wireless networking.
Working
knowledge of Active Directory, permissions, file and printer sharing,
and Windows Client/Server environments.

Strong
interpersonal skills and ability to foster and maintain cooperative and

retirement of Waukesha Public Library’s long-time Children’s Services manager
has created an opportunity for a creative, dynamic, professional who is
dedicated to serving children, families and educators. Lead the Children’s
Services team and oversee all aspects of the Children’s Services Department,
including collection development; program planning and implementation, both
within the library and at outreach locations; readers’ advisory; and reference
services.
Work in Waukesha Public Library’s vibrant, recently remodeled and expanded
children’s area, which includes an early learning/pre-literacy center. The

Oak Creek Public Library - Assistant Director
The Oak Creek Public Library seeks an innovative,

Falls Public Library - Youth Services Librarian

Library Director
The New Glarus Public Library seeks an

position of its Library Director. With a major building project

Salem Community Library – Head of Information Services
The Community Library is seeking an innovative,
self-motivated, technology-savvy Information Services supervisor to lead our
Information Services Department. The ideal candidate is a community-minded team
player who can effectively and efficiently manage reference and outreach

options for the children and young adults of Chilton and the surrounding
communities that will complement existing programs. Other primary duties would
include the management and growth of youth library collections in various
formats, supervision of library staff, plus outreach connections with the area

Plymouth Public Library - Youth Services Librarian
The Plymouth Public Library (Plymouth, WI) is seeking to
fill a vacancy in their Youth Services Librarian position. The primary duties
of this position include planning and conducting library programs for babies
through teens, working cooperatively with area schools and the community on
programming and projects, and participating in collection development for youth
services. Other responsibilities include customer service related duties at the
